What goes into a spring clean up?
Spring clean up is about clearing winter off the property so everything underneath can get going. That means pulling matted leaves and dead growth out of the beds, cutting back perennials and ornamental grasses that were left standing over winter, clearing debris off the turf so it is not smothered, and tidying the edges so the beds have a clean line again. Most of our customers have third acre lawns, so this is a morning of work, not a week of it. How does fall clean up work in Posen?
Around here the leaves do not all come down on one convenient weekend. They come down for six or eight weeks straight, which is why we offer weekly leaf removal during the fall instead of one late visit after everything is already brown and matted. The crew works the property on its regular day, clears the leaves off the turf and out of the beds, and keeps it looking like somebody is paying attention. At the end of the season we cut back what needs cutting back and put the yard to bed. Yes. The leaves, the clippings, and the cut back growth go in the truck and leave with us. You are not left with a pile of bags at the curb or a heap behind the garage waiting on a pickup day. That is what the dump truck is for. The fall clean up is also when most customers settle the winter, because the last leaf pickup and the first plow are only a few weeks apart, and our snow and ice management lists get filled before the season starts. When should a spring clean up be scheduled?
As soon as the ground firms up and the snow is gone for good, usually early in the season. Getting it done before growth takes off means the crew is clearing debris instead of working around new plants.
Do you offer leaf removal more than once in the fall?
Yes. We offer weekly leaf removal during the fall, so the leaves get cleared as they come down instead of piling up and matting into the turf while you wait on one big visit.
What does a fall clean up include?
Clearing leaves off the turf and out of the landscape beds, cutting back growth that should not stand through winter, tidying the bed edges, and hauling everything off the property when we leave.
Do I have to be home for the clean up?
No. As long as the crew can get to the yard and any gates are unlocked, we work the property and go. If we run into something unexpected, the office will call you about it.
Can I get a clean up without weekly service?
Yes, you can book a clean up on its own. Most of our work is weekly maintenance, so many customers roll the clean ups into that schedule, but a standalone clean up is fine too.
